Job Summary
Coordinate construction quality management programs by reviewing contractor quality control plans, monitoring three-phase checklists, and validating materials prior to invoice payments. Witness successful testing and commissioning of critical systems including HVAC, electrical, and fire safety while providing remarks on Government Quality Assurance reports. Take and distribute progress photos, ensure workmanship aligns with specifications for concrete, steel, and masonry, and keep the Government sponsor advised on project status. Requires 5 years of Quality Control Manager experience or 10 years of foreman experience in specific trades, USACE CQM certification, and ability to work outdoors in varying conditions.
Required Qualifications
- A minimum of 5 years of verified experience as a Quality Control Manager working for General Contractors on NAVFAC or US Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) projects
- 10 years of verified foreman experience in one or more of following trades: Concrete; Mechanical; Electrical; Masonry; or Carpentry on commercial/industrial/military projects
- Must complete the USACE Construction CQM Certification
- Must be able to stand, walk, bend, stoop, crouch, crawl, navigate across uneven ground that is common at construction sites and climb for extended periods as well as when traveling to and from job sites
- Must be able to lift, carry, push, and pull materials and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds regularly
- Must be able to work both indoor/outdoor (with exposure to the elements)
- Must be able to work in confined spaces and under varying environmental conditions, including heat, cold, humidity, rain, wind, dust, and noise
- Must be able to wear and use required personal protective equipment (PPE) such as hard hats, safety glasses, gloves, hearing protection, steel-toed boots, fall protection safety vests and high-visibility reflective safety vests
- Must have sufficient visual and auditory acuity to perform tasks safely and effectively, including reading instruments, recognizing hazards, and communicating on active construction sites
- Must be able to drive company or personal vehicles to and from field locations, sometimes multiple times per day, and may be required to work variable shifts depending on project needs
