Job Summary
Manage all assigned OSP projects, clients, and partners in accordance with SPEQ Metrics, overseeing contractors and subcontractors to ensure quality control, safety regulations, and construction standards are followed. Maintain project-related data through company software, including production schedules, daily logs, red lines, and as-builts, while communicating clearly with customers, vendors, and management. Report any damage or incidents with documentation and proactively update senior leadership on project progress. Travel daily to job sites within a local geographic area (50%) to oversee project execution, including nights and weekends as dictated by business needs.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 1-3 years of experience in OSP fiber optic construction in a similar role
- Knowledgeable in fiber optic network testing equipment and procedures
- Familiar with the OSP construction standards, codes, regulations, and safety practices
- Excellent communication, leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to travel frequently to various project sites
- 100% onsite
- Working conditions are normal for construction sites
- Field working conditions to oversee project progress, including nights and weekends
- Travel daily to job sites within a local geographic area (50%)
- On occasion, for special projects or to attend company-approved meetings, travel outside the normal area will be required (10%)
- Regularly required to walk long distances on uneven surfaces
- Regularly required to climb stairs
- Regularly required to bend, stoop, kneel
- Occasionally lift moderate weights (up to 50 pounds)
- Ability to inspect various areas of a construction site in all weather conditions
- Ability to reach, crawl, and stretch
- Good vision
- Good hearing
- Ability to stand for extended periods
- Ability to sit for extended periods of time while traveling to construction sites by the most efficient method available
Desired Qualifications
- Knowledge of light and heavy equipment used in Outside Construction and Maintenance
- In-depth knowledge of telecommunications, Outside Plant, construction, Fiber Restoration, and splicing/testing
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Highly organized and detail-oriented
- Self-motivated and able to work independently
- Proficient with Microsoft Office suite
- Experience training contractors and subcontractors in technical and non-technical duties
