Job Summary
Oversee and manage ground-up commercial construction projects from pre-construction through completion in a Indianapolis-based environment. Lead on-site personnel including subcontractors and laborers, ensuring schedules, safety protocols, and quality standards are met. Manage adherence to plans, specifications, and client expectations; coordinate daily activities; conduct safety meetings; monitor project costs and keep the project on budget; review subcontractor work for quality and timeliness; collaborate with the project manager to track progress and communicate updates to the client; ensure permits and inspections comply with local regulations; maintain positive relationships with clients and stakeholders; address on-site issues promptly to minimize disruptions.
Required Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Superintendent in commercial construction, specifically in ground-up projects
- Strong knowledge of construction processes, building codes, safety regulations, and project management practices
- Excellent leadership and communication skills with the ability to motivate teams and collaborate effectively with clients and subcontractors
- Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and work under pressure to meet deadlines
- Proficiency in using construction management software and other project management tools
- Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, plans, and specifications
- OSHA certification (preferred)
- Ability to lift and carry construction materials, equipment, and tools as necessary
