Job Summary
Own the daily workflow of commercial job sites in Sarasota, FL, supervising construction personnel, subcontractors, and vendors to maintain tight task sequencing and high productivity. Build and manage 3-week lookahead schedules that adjust in real time for weather, site conditions, and field delays while coordinating material and equipment deliveries against purchase orders. Serve as the site's authority on safety, enforcing OSHA standards, local building codes, and company policy through daily inspections, toolbox talks, and incident reporting. Read and enforce blueprints and specs, perform quality inspections, and coordinate third-party and municipal inspections to secure sign-offs. Lead a team of field workers, track progress, allocate resources, and act as the communication link between the field, Project Manager, engineers, and ownership. Maintain detailed Daily Field Reports, generate RFIs, and resolve trade conflicts before they threaten the schedule.
Required Qualifications
- 10+ years of field experience in commercial construction
- Ability to lift, carry, or position up to 75 lbs
- Ability to work in physically demanding positions including kneeling, bending, squatting, and standing for extended periods
- Willingness to travel within market and/or relocate based on project assignment
- Non-compete and non-disclosure agreement agreement
Desired Qualifications
- Prior experience in multi-family and/or hotel construction
- A four-year degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field
- Equivalent hands-on field experience to a four-year degree
- OSHA 30 certification
- Strong working knowledge of electrical, mechanical, and structural systems
- Proven ability to run an OSHA site visit and pass with flying colors
- Sharp leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Google Suite
- Comfortable working outdoors in all conditions including heat, cold, rain, and wind
