Job Summary
On-site Construction Superintendent for the night shift overseeing large-scale building/rehabilitation projects in New York, with a minimum of 10 years’ experience and a focus on projects often valued around $10 million or more. Requires a Construction Management degree or equivalent (Bachelor’s degree preferred) and OSHA 30 certification. Responsible for developing and communicating the project work plan, monitoring manpower and performance, coordinating design document reviews across trades (architectural, mechanical, electrical, plumbing), interpreting construction documents, and ensuring adherence to construction codes. Must lead collaboratively with architects, engineers, and contractors, manage safety protocols, and operate under pressure to meet deadlines. Proficiency in MS Office or related construction software is required; a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation are also necessary.
Required Qualifications
- Degree in Construction Management or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience (Bachelor's degree preferred)
- Minimum of 4 years’ experience as a Superintendent on large-scale, multi-contract or single prime building projects
- Must develop/communicate a project work plan and monitor manpower/performance
- Working knowledge of architectural design, MEP systems, and construction industry practices
- Ability to interpret construction documents and understand codes
- Excellent decision-making under pressure
- Strong proficiency with MS Office or construction software
- OSHA 30 certification
- Ability to lead and collaborate with architects, engineers, consultants, contractors, and clients
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
