Job Summary
Coordinate assigned trade contractors and field activities to ensure adherence to approved schedules, budgets, and work plans. Conduct safety observations, audits, and enforcement while maintaining accurate daily field reports and safety documentation. Monitor work in progress for compliance with contract documents, drawings, and specifications, and track production, labor hours, and productivity metrics. Assist with forecasting labor and material needs, support cost-of-work tracking, and manage logistics for material procurement and delivery. Resolve jurisdictional disputes and field-level issues within assigned scopes, and establish credibility with owners, unions, and field personnel through professional conduct.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering or Construction Management
- 3+ years' experience leading crews of 20-25+ craft in a superintendent capacity
- 5-8 years construction experience
- Superintendent experience on projects of total value $20 million - $50 million+
- Ability to Travel locally around the DMV area if needed
- OSHA 30 hour certified
- Or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Strong technical and communication skills
- Strong labor relations with union and non-union engagement
- Excellent organizational skills
- Ability to work in a team environment
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, safety and site operations software, and construction management software
- Knowledge of construction-documenting and drawing
- Knowledge of all phases of construction
- Knowledge in all divisions of work
- Knowledge of methods
- Knowledge of materials
- Knowledge of scheduling
