Construction Superintendent

Job Summary
Proactively work with contractors to ensure scope of work complies with Health, Safety & Environment and Quality policies. Provide senior-level field presence, coach staff on issue resolution, and mentor field personnel while managing contractor productivity and equipment usage. Conduct constructability reviews of execution plans and schedules prior to mobilization, then develop and execute work plans to keep projects on schedule and within budget. Monitor contractor performance throughout execution, organize meetings, and submit daily progress reports outlining achievements, issues, and concerns. Ensure construction conforms to drawings, specifications, and Inspection & Test Plans while resolving interference and QA/QC matters.
Required Qualifications
- Technical Engineering Diploma or Journeyperson Certification
- 8+ years of construction supervisory/management experience in an industrial setting
- Previous experience in a General Superintendent or similar construction management role
- Previous computer experience and working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to meet tight deadlines
- Understanding of construction budgets
- Ability to use, interpret and track performance against established contractor schedules
- Solid knowledge/understanding/appreciation of Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) policies/procedures
- Standard mobility
- Ability to work in cold weather environment
- Ability to tolerate exposures to temperature extremes
- Ability to tolerate noise typically found in an industrial construction setting
- Valid driver's license
