Construction Superintendent - Fabrication (Starbase)

Job Summary
Own day-to-day execution of fluids fabrication projects on site, leading site logistics, scheduling, and progress tracking for launch propellant systems. Manage contractor deliveries, storage, and site cleanliness while performing daily field coordination, conflict resolution, and schedule management. Directly supervise tubers and fitters, set priorities, and drive productivity, ensuring all installations meet SpaceX quality standards. Review drawings and isometric diagrams for constructability, resolve fit-up interferences and design gaps in real time, and serve as the primary contact between contractors, engineering, and internal teams. Manage night shift contractors as required and assist with hands-on skilled trade work approximately 10% of the time.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalency certificate
- 3+ years of professional experience in the construction or aerospace industries, with experience leading or coordinating a labor force
- 3+ years of hands-on experience with a construction trade skill
- Ability to work multiple shifts and change shifts with minimal notice; flexibility required
- Ability to travel to different sites, as needed, up to 20% travel
- Ability to perform job duties that require standing, kneeling, crouching, twisting the upper body, working in cramped positions in small openings, and climbing hand-over-hand
- Typically exposed to work in extreme outdoor environments – heat, cold, rain
- Work performed in an environment requiring exposure to fumes, odors, and noise
- Stand: Up to 10 hours per day
- Sit: Up to 10 hours per day
- Push/Pull: Up to 75lbs. (unassisted) between 1 to 2 hours per day
- Overhead reach: Up to 10 hours per day
- Walk: Up to 10 hours per day
- Lift/Carry: Up to ≤ 50 lbs. (unassisted) between 1 to 2 hours per day
- Climb (ladder/stairs): Up to 6 hours per day
- Kneel/Crouch: Up to 10 hours per day
- Upper body twist: Up to 6 hours per day
- Ability to work in temperatures over 80 degrees for 6 hours or greater per day
- Candidate must be capable of safely working at heights (up to 500ft), in confined spaces, operating heavy equipment and machinery, and performing the physical requirements of the job listed in the job description

Desired Qualifications
- Fabrication experience on large-scale industrial or aerospace projects
- Experience estimating labor hours and managing budgets for welding scopes
- Strong field experience managing tubing contractors, fitters, and multi-disciplinary crews in fast-paced technical environments
- Ability to read and interpret piping and instrumentation diagrams, isometric drawings, fabrication drawings, and redlines
- Experience with fit-up, system tie-ins, modifications, and resolving constructability issues in the field
- Solid understanding of tubing quality requirements, visual inspection, and proof and clean process
- OSHA 30 certification
- Experience coordinating work around active test and operations environments
- Current CWI (Certified Welding Inspector) certification
