Job Summary
The Superintendent will lead on-site management of commercial roofing projects, overseeing all phases from pre-construction through closeout in Birmingham, AL. Responsibilities include reviewing contract documents, plans, specifications, submittals, shop drawings, and engineering calculations to direct construction, identify issues, and implement solutions; understanding project estimates and cost data to direct the project toward profitability; defining and executing construction sequencing; overseeing roofing and wall panel construction; ensuring completion of General Contractor and Architect punch lists in line with the company’s Quality Assurance standards; and coordinating with stakeholders to provide full medical/dental/vision/life benefits, a 10% bonus, PTO, holidays, and a relocation package. The role requires on-site work with minimal supervision, strong time-management, and excellent interpersonal/communication skills, and familiarity with PlanGrid, OneDrive, SharePoint, and mobile devices.
Required Qualifications
- 7+ years of experience as a construction Superintendent for a commercial roofing contractor or commercial general contractor
- Must not have felony convictions to obtain clearance to enter educational buildings and federal facilities and a clean driving record to be allowed to use company vehicles
- Must be able to work on-site with little supervision
- Knowledge of all phases of the building construction process including pre-construction through closeout
- Ability to use the technology provided by the company (Plan Grid, One Drive share points, email, iPhone, iPad, etc.)
- Excellent time management skills
- Great interpersonal and communication skills
