Job Summary
Construction Skilled Laborer needed to support site operations at a civil construction project in Bear, DE. Responsibilities include rough and fine grading, installation of underground utilities (sewer, storm, waterline), setting pipes and performing grade checks with lasers and levels, installing structures such as manholes and water appurtenances, preparing sub-grade and base for asphalt/concrete, and assisting with forming, grading, and prep for sidewalks, curbs, and pads. Assist with compacting soil, stone, and asphalt, identify elevations and slopes for drainage, safely work around utilities, and load/unload materials. Additional duties include snow removal and maintaining a clean job site. Required 2+ years of civil/site construction experience, ability to read plans, familiarity with trench safety, and a valid license; CDL is a plus. Must be able to work extended hours in varying weather; physical ability to lift 50+ lbs; strong teamwork and communication; EOEO.
Required Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience in civil/site construction
- Knowledge of underground utility installation procedures
- Ability to read grade stakes, site plans, and interpret elevations
- Familiarity with trench safety, shoring, and confined space awareness
- Experience working around heavy equipment
- Valid driver’s license (CDL a plus but not required)
- Ability to work extended hours and in varying weather conditions
- Strong communication skills
- Work well with others
- Can follow directions
- “Can do” attitude
- Ability to lift 50+ lbs regularly
- Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions
