Job Summary
Direct on-site construction activities across roadways, earthwork, utilities, and drainage while serving as the primary contact for owners, engineers, subcontractors, and inspectors. Develop and maintain project schedules including 3-week lookaheads and the master schedule, then champion job site safety through daily inspections and OSHA compliance enforcement. Supervise and mentor field crews including foremen, laborers, operators, and craft workers while managing subcontractor performance, scheduling, and contract compliance. Implement and enforce the project QC/QA plan to specification and maintain daily job logs, field reports, RFIs, and change order documentation. Requires 7-10 years of civil construction field experience, OSHA 30-Hour certification, and proficiency with Primavera P6 or Microsoft Project.
Required Qualifications
- 7-10 years of civil construction field experience
- 3-5 years as a superintendent
- Demonstrated experience on civil projects such as roadways, earthwork, utilities, or site development
- Strong knowledge of construction means, methods, and sequencing for civil work
- Proficiency reading and interpreting civil engineering plans, specifications, and survey data
- OSHA 30-Hour Construction certification, or ability to obtain within 90 days
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
- Experience with scheduling software such as Primavera P6 or Microsoft Project
- Familiarity with construction management software such as Procore or Viewpoint
- Ability to remain in a stationary position at a computer workstation for extended periods
- Ability to operate a computer and other office productivity equipment continuously
- Ability to communicate and exchange information in person, via phone, and through electronic means
- Ability to traverse office, lab, data center, and field environments as required
- Ability to stand, walk, and navigate active construction sites for extended periods
- Ability to work outdoors in conditions including heat, cold, noise, dust, and proximity to heavy equipment
- Ability to travel to project sites as required
