Job Summary
On-site Construction Site Safety Manager/SSHO responsible for managing and enforcing all jobsite safety requirements per EM-385 and OSHA regulations on DoD/ military construction projects; lead safety personnel, coordinate with project teams, ensure safe, compliant operations, and implement RQ’s Safety Management System across assigned projects; travel or relocation may be required across Southern California from the Carlsbad office; requires 5+ years of commercial construction and safety management experience, DoD project familiarity preferred; certifications include CPR, First Aid, OSHA 30, and competent-person training in Fall Protection, Confined Space, Electrical, Trenching/Excavation, PPE, and Scaffolding; proficiency in MS Office; familiarity with NAVFAC/USACE/EM385-1-1 and related software (RMS/QCS, Viewpoint) is preferred.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in commercial construction
- 5+ years of experience in construction safety management at the jobsite level
- Current CPR, First Aid, and OSHA 30 certifications (within the last 5 years)
- Competent person training or experience in Fall Protection, Confined Space, Electrical, Trenching/Excavation, PPE and Scaffolding
- Documented safety training averaging at least 24 hours annually over the past 5 years
