Job Summary
Oversee daily site activities for a 200MW/800MWh Battery Energy Storage System, ensuring works align with design specifications, programme requirements, and construction best practices. Enforce health, safety, and environmental compliance across site while managing contractors, resources, and interfaces on site. Lead site briefings, watching briefs, and inspections to mitigate risks and drive a disciplined, delivery-focused culture. Monitor progress against milestones, track daily performance, and coordinate energisation readiness packs for handover. Maintain an audit-ready site and support landowner engagement while ensuring the project delivers safely, on time, and within budget.
Required Qualifications
- Proven site-based delivery experience on UK energy infrastructure with exposure to BESS and/or HV BOP works
- Strong understanding of construction sequencing across civils + electrical + controls/SCADA
- Solid grasp of CDM 2015, RAMS, PTW, and contractor management
- High-quality reporting and a completion-focused mindset (evidence-based sign-off)
- Confident communicator able to challenge poor practice safely and professionally
- Full UK driving licence
- Willingness to travel
- Demonstrable experience in reviewing Quality related documentation including QMP, ITP and raising NCRs
- Engineering or electrical qualification (apprenticeship/HNC/HND/degree) or equivalent experience
- CSCS/ECS (as applicable)
Desired Qualifications
- Direct experience with BESS OEM packages (PCS/inverters, EMS, container systems, fire strategy integration)
- SMSTS/SSSTS
- IOSH/NEBOSH
- Familiarity with TO interface processes and grid compliance context (e.g. G99)
- AP/SAP experience (depending on owner model and project arrangements)
- First Aid at Work
