Job Summary
Develop preliminary and definitive detailed estimates and proposals for labor, materials, and equipment on commercial mechanical projects encompassing plumbing, hydronic/weld piping, and sheet metal. Obtain and evaluate vendor and sub-contractor pricing for compliance with project specifications and drawings. Attend pre-bid site meetings, verify site conditions, and interface with Owners, Developers, and General Contractors. Manage the bid preparation and formal written proposal process in its entirety while electronically maintaining records of all working documents and data. Assist, organize, and prioritize work in conjunction with sales engineers. This role supports plan & spec projects ranging from $5,000 to $2,000,000 in the Baltimore market.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 3-5 years of proven successful experience preparing estimates and proposals for commercial mechanical projects utilizing computerized estimation and digital take-off software
- Ability to provide a complete commercial mechanical construction estimate and proposal for either plan/spec or design/build projects including plumbing, hydronic piping, and sheet metal work
- Ability to understand/coordinate Mechanical Construction with other building trades (Architectural/Structural etc.)
- Computer literate with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
- strong communication and writing abilities
- established presence in the Baltimore market
- highly skilled in all aspects of commercial mechanical estimating and selling plan & spec projects ranging from $5,000 - $2,000,000
