Job Summary
Construction Safety Specialists (Field Based) provide on-site observation of construction activities from an EHS perspective on a pharmaceutical project in Philadelphia. Responsibilities include on-site safety oversight, ensuring compliance with client safety procedures, training on-site workers and subcontractors on EHS requirements, administering client directives, maintaining safety documentation (JHA, SDS, toolbox talks), conducting daily site inspections, reviewing General Contractor JHAs for signatures, issuing daily observation reports, and coordinating with field personnel and vendors to enforce safety measures. Key skills include knowledge of OSHA standards, safety program administration, incident reporting, safety training delivery, and strong communication with general contractors and subcontractors. The role is full-time for 5 months with potential extension, requiring on-site engagement and travel as needed.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in construction management, safety, or occupational health and safety, or a related degree preferred
- 3+ years of on-site experience in construction-specific project health & safety
- Certification in the field: CHST, ASP, and/or CSP are preferred
- Pharmaceutical or high-tech project experience is highly desired
- Strong knowledge of OSHA General Industry and construction standards
- Completed training and certifications for OSHA 30-hour construction, confined space entry training, and fall protection/prevention training preferred
- Experience with Microsoft Office suite of software (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams)
- Ability to multitask, travel, and work independently with minimal supervision
