Job Summary
Construction Safety Specialist responsible for supporting and continuously improving the OHSMS across active construction sites and subcontracted crews. Performs regular site visits, safety inspections, hazard assessments, and incident investigations with root-cause analysis. Develops site-specific Safe Work Procedures, delivers site safety training, ensures compliance with provincial legislation and client safety requirements, maintains safety records, and prepares management reports. Requires a post-secondary credential in Occupational Health & Safety, 4+ years in health & safety, 2+ years construction experience, and strong communication and leadership skills; proficiency with MS Office and safety documentation is preferred. Role is hands-on and outdoors on active construction sites; valid driver’s license and vehicle access required.
Required Qualifications
- Post-secondary Degree, Diploma, or Certificate in Occupational Health & Safety
- Minimum 4 years of experience in a Health & Safety role
- At least 2 years of construction industry experience
- Strong working knowledge of the Occupational Health & Safety Act and O. Reg. 213/91 (Construction Projects) preferred
