Construction Safety Specialist

Job Summary
Oversee safety on heavy civil and highway construction sites across Eastern PA, NJ, and DE; perform safety supervisory and consulting duties, inspect job sites for hazards, conduct root-cause analyses, develop preventive measures, coordinate training to promote a safety-focused culture, assist with regulatory audits and inspections, maintain documentation, and ensure compliance with OSHA regulations. Requires 5+ years of direct construction safety oversight, a degree in safety-related fields, OSHA/BCSP credentials, ability to read plans, strong communication skills, and willingness to travel locally. Must have a valid driver’s license and 30-hour OSHA card (or ability to obtain within 3 months). Roles involve frequent field activity, PPE management, and collaboration with safety teams.
Required Qualifications
- At least 2 years of relevant health and safety experience in the heavy civil construction industry, or related industries regulated by OSHA
- Knowledge of OSHA regulations
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to adapt and respond to changing variables
- Intermediate Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.)
- Valid driver’s license with clean driving record
- 30-hour OSHA (Construction) card or ability to obtain one within 3 months of hire
- Ability to work well with a team and willingness to collaborate
- Willingness to travel locally daily
- Ability to meet physical requirements
- 5+ years of direct construction safety oversight experience
- Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree in occupational safety and health, environmental health and safety, physical sciences, or other relevant programs with a focus on health, safety and/or environment
- OSHA 500 Card for Outreach Trainer Authorization
- BCSP credentials such as STS-C, CHST, ASP, or CSP

- Ability to read and interpret plans and construction drawings
- Ability to travel locally daily
