Job Summary
Conduct safety assessments and inspections of construction projects to monitor compliance with laws, regulations, and site-specific plans. Collaborate with management to develop and implement environmental, safety, and security policies while investigating injuries, accidents, and incidents to document root causes. Assist in creating Method of Procedure plans and deliver safety and compliance training to supervisors and field employees. Provide comprehensive written reports documenting site visits, activities, and incidents as needed. This role supports the Safety & Risk Manager across project sites and facilities throughout the United States, requiring 75% travel to CA, NV, and TC.
Required Qualifications
- 3+ years' full time safety experience in a construction setting
- Working knowledge of injury prevention, compliance, and risk reduction techniques
- Must possess OSHA 30 construction certificate valid within 5 years
- Trade experience with a board-certified safety credential from a nationally recognized organization (for example, CSP, ASP, CHST) and five years of full-time construction safety management experience
- Knowledge of state and federal safety regulations as applied to construction and general industry
- First Aid, CPR & AED certifications
- Must be willing to lead in an emergency event
- Competent Person: Electrical safety-NFPA 70E, Excavation, Fall protection and Confined space
- Ability to work split shifts, overtime, weekends and travel as needed
- Strong computer literacy and ability including to include Microsoft applications; Word, Excel, Power Point and other applications as needed
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, supervisory and leadership skills
- Must be able to lift/move up to 50 pounds
- Occasionally climb, balance, stoop, kneel, reach with hands and arms at waist level and below the waist
- Work in limited space
- Regularly required to talk in order to communicate detailed and accurate information
- Regularly required to hear with or without correction in order to receive and interpret detailed information and instructions
- Regularly required to sit for long and short periods at a time at a desk or driving to remote works sites
- Regularly required to walk for long and short distances in order to accomplish job tasks
- Regularly required to reach: ability to extend hand(s) and arm(s) including reaching in front of body, at shoulder level
