Construction Safety Program Manager

Job Summary
Review and observe site-specific Health and Safety Plans to ensure conformance with project specifications. Coordinate with contractor personnel regarding safety, technical, and administrative aspects, while evaluating pre-work assessments, surveys, and inspections. Proactively intervene to stop work when observing unsafe acts or conditions that pose immediate danger, and notify appropriate personnel per the communication plan. Communicate project activities and status to designated personnel based on an agreed-upon plan, and report observed non-compliance to the general contractor or subcontractor. Hold contractor personnel accountable for completing safety orientation training and confirm that required permits and approvals are obtained and maintained. Attend regular project meetings and carry out periodic audits to promote safe behaviors and prevent accidents.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in chemical, biomedical/biochemical engineering, biological/chemical sciences or equivalent
- 5+ years of project management experience in site operations and an engineering degree
- 3+ years of industry experience and a mechanical engineering background
- Project management skills
- Experience in office/lab planning
- Experience in move coordination
- Experience in small construction management
- Experience in managing a portfolio of small projects
- Experience and training in reading construction drawings (Architectural, Mechanical, Electrical, Process, Plumbing, Structural, Fire)
- Experience and training in reading construction specifications
Desired Qualifications
- Experience in pharmaceutical/biotech industry involving cGMP
- Mechanical engineering background (when paired with 3+ years industry experience)
