Job Summary
Develop Safe Work Procedures and conduct formal inspections to ensure compliance with Ontario OHSA legislation and contract requirements on the Ontario Line Subway project. Provide daily oversight for contractor work, assess hazards, and implement risk mitigation controls while protecting workers, public, and infrastructure. Collaborate with the Integrated Project Team to review construction activities, support incident investigations, and execute corrective actions. This full-time one-year contract role requires 5–7 years of heavy civil safety experience and is based in Toronto, ON.
Required Qualifications
- 5–7+ years of on-site construction safety experience in heavy civil, infrastructure, or major projects
- Experience supporting heavy civil, transportation, rail, or major infrastructure construction projects
- Tunnel and/or bridge experience
- Strong working knowledge of Ontario OHSA Act and Regulations with an enhanced level of knowledge and experience in construction requirements
- Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Experience managing multiple priorities within fast-paced construction environments
- Ability to establish collaborative and effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- Successful clearance of applicable pre-employment checks
- Criminal Background/Police Information check
- Drug & Alcohol test
- Reference checks
- Submittal of Provincial Driver's Abstract
