Job Summary
Manage construction contractor activities for transmission line and substation projects in Connecticut, Massachusetts, and New Hampshire, ensuring adherence to specifications, codes, and safety regulations. Observe and inspect contractors to verify compliance with environmental rules, contract documents, and state/local siting conditions. Coordinate material delivery, conduct on-site briefings, and prepare reports reflecting project status and schedule adherence. Lead project meetings, review design documents for constructability, and oversee contractor evaluations and close-out activities. May hold electrical system clearances, take switching orders, and provide substation escorts. Requires switching certification, OSHA training, and ability to work extended hours during emergency restoration assignments.
Required Qualifications
- Must obtain and maintain switching and tagging certification
- OSHA Training
- Knowledge of applicable safety regulations and codes along with construction standards and regulations
- Working knowledge of construction methods and procedures
- Knowledge of energy delivery power systems
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, related degree or equivalent experience
- Minimum of three (3) years of related construction experience
- Experience in Transmission Systems preferred
- Valid Motor Vehicle Operator's License
- Must be available to work emergency restoration assignment as required
- Must be available to travel between MA/CT/NH as necessary
- Must be able to enter ROW and other job sites that are in remote areas with uneven terrain
- Must demonstrate past and continued ability to analyze and solve complex construction problems
- Must demonstrate the ability to perform incident investigations
