Job Summary
Lead property-related coordination activities within Friendship Village by serving as a spokesperson for House of Friendship on internal and external property issues. Support development of operational readiness plans for new facilities, liaise with program teams to identify risks and dependencies, and lead alignment between construction teams, contractors, and consultants. Oversee coordination of project meetings, ensure building systems meet safety and program requirements, and provide direction to property staff and on-site contractors. Gather feedback to ensure alignment with program needs and service delivery requirements. This contract position runs from August 2026 to July 31, 2027, with a schedule of Monday to Friday, daytime hours. A G class driver's license and reliable vehicle are required for frequent travel across Waterloo Region.
Required Qualifications
- G class driver's license
- access to a reliable vehicle
- Minimum 2 year college diploma in a relevant field (e.g., facilities management, construction management, business administration, or related discipline)
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in property operations, facilities coordination, interpretation of technical drawings and plans, and/or capital projects
- Experience working within complex environments involving multiple interest holders
- Experience interpreting building plans, systems, and technical documentation
- Commitment to understand and uphold the mission and values of House of Friendship
- Exemplary emotional intelligence, resilience, communication, conflict management and problem solving skills
- Ability to work professionally as a team member with staff, participants and community members
- Build solid and fruitful relationships with community partners and external organizations
- Demonstrated ability to create and maintain a positive work environment including the ability to lead and navigate change
- Experience or strong interest in working with diverse populations including people from various cultural backgrounds, income levels, with sensitivity to their needs
- Strong intercultural competency, with the ability to recognize and respect cultural diversity, able to be diplomatic and sensitive to the dynamics of a culturally diverse workplace
- Experience with and commitment to using an anti-racism, anti-oppressive and trauma informed approach in consultation, program design, evaluation processes and service delivery

- Excellent project, timeline and deadline management skills including skills in logistics, project management, planning and detailed record keeping

- Must be available for weekend shifts
- Must be available for daytime hours

- Must be able to travel across House of Friendship sites
- Must be able to work on a building site
- Must be able to encounter participants at program sites who may be under the influence of alcohol or other drugs, and/or experiencing symptoms of mental illness
