Job Summary
Apprentice (Term 3) for Construction Refrigeration (313A) in a regular full-time union role. Responsible for measuring and laying out refrigeration installations, assembling and installing commercial refrigeration or cold storage units (walk-in coolers/freezers, rack systems), installing refrigeration lines, interpreting blueprints, cutting and connecting piping using welding and brazing, assisting with commissioning and start-up, ensuring materials are available, handling refrigerants safely per environmental and safety regulations, conducting pressure tests for leaks, repairing leaks or damaged systems, keeping the worksite clean and compliant with health and safety protocols, diagnosing and troubleshooting refrigeration system issues (mechanical and electrical) under guidance or independently, and supporting journeypersons with various installation tasks. Strong mechanical aptitude, ability to travel when required, and a proactive, team-oriented attitude are valued.
Required Qualifications
- Registered 3rd year refrigeration apprentice
- Minimum 2 years of hands-on experience in supermarket or commercial refrigeration installation.
