Job Summary
Construction Quality Manager on-site at the Hanley Federal Building in Syracuse, NY, acting as the Government’s on-site representative to ensure QC programs are implemented and that construction meets design/quality standards. Responsibilities include documenting existing conditions, reviewing drawings/specifications, leading weekly site meetings with GSA, conducting daily site inspections, managing submittals/RFI reviews, tracking change orders, preparing cost estimates, maintaining marked-up drawings, reviewing contractor invoices, coordinating work schedules, administering punch lists, and assisting with project close-out and employee clearances. Requires substantial CM experience, CCM certification (or 10 years with engineering/architectural degree), and a Bachelor’s degree in Architecture or Engineering; OSHA 30 preferred. On-site role with no remote option; relocation benefits available; federal project experience with GSA is preferred. Must be able to work on-site continuously and to navigate construction environments. Location: Utica, NY (primary), with focus on on-site quality management for a DoD/GSA project.
Required Qualifications
- 5 years minimum construction management experience with CCM certification OR 10 years experience with a four-year engineering or architectural degree and successful completion of a construction project of similar scope and complexity (e.g., $1M restroom renovation)
- Bachelor's degree in Architecture or Engineering
- Preferred Certifications: OSHA 30 Hour
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Proficiency in scheduling/Critical Path Method software (e.g., Microsoft Project)
- Ability to climb ladders and navigate construction sites
- Federal experience preferred, particularly with GSA
- Ability to work within a team
- Attention to detail
- Knowledge of constructing schedules and detailed Scopes of Work for design/construction projects
- Physical ability to manage site conditions and documentation
- U.S. citizens or lawful permanent residents for client security requirements
