Job Summary
Lead Quality Control and Field Leadership for multiple federal construction projects in the Greater Baltimore and DC-Metro areas, ensuring work complies with project plans, UFC requirements, and contract documents. Conduct regular QC inspections of deliveries, ongoing work, and mock-ups; review submittals and construction drawings; and schedule, prepare, and lead three-phase quality control inspection meetings with full documentation. Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, and field personnel to maintain schedule and productivity while managing submittal procedures and third-party testing. Monitor QC progress proactively, identify deficiencies, and coordinate corrective actions. Promote a proactive safety culture, ensure compliance with OSHA and USACE requirements, and lead project commissioning and closeout activities. Transport yourself to project sites daily, Monday through Friday, with start times varying between 6:00am and 8:00am.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree
- Minimum 10+ years of experience as a Construction Quality Control Manager on commercial or federal construction projects
- Experience managing Quality Control on federal construction projects for agencies such as USACE, DoD, NAVFAC, GSA, or similar federal customers
- Valid USACE/NAVFAC QCM Certification
- Working knowledge of government systems: RMS, WebCM, Kahua, etc.
- Demonstrated experience coordinating multiple subcontractors and construction trades
- Strong understanding of commercial building systems including architectural, HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire alarm, and fire suppression systems
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and contract documents
- Valid Driver's License
- S. Citizenship
- Fluent in English; speaking, reading and writing
- Ability to obtain and maintain access to federal and military installations
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc.
- Proficient in Bluebeam or similar PDF editing software
- Must be able to lift approximately 40lbs alone
- Must be able to spend extended periods of time (up to 2-4 hours) on your feet or walking around a project site, potentially on uneven surfaces or within areas actively in construction
- Must be able to get to the project site on time, and under your own means of transportation
- Must pass a pre-employment drug screening
- Must have acceptable background check results
- Must obtain and maintain the appropriate clearance levels required
- Must be able to obtain access to military installations
Desired Qualifications
- OSHA Training
- Security Clearance or the ability to obtain one
- Experience working within an SBA 8(a) federal contracting environment
- Existing relationships with subcontractors and suppliers throughout the Mid-Atlantic region
- Experience managing occupied renovations and secure government facilities
