Job Summary
Construction Project Supervisor for INDOT Greenfield District. Develop and execute comprehensive construction plans, oversee day-to-day inspection activities, assign tasks to highway technicians and project supervisors, and maintain detailed project documentation (contracts, permits, progress reports, pay quantities and estimates). Coordinate with contractor, agency, and stakeholders; ensure compliance with state/federal policies; manage project budgets up to $5 million; create/negotiate change orders and prepare contractor-claims documentation. Utilize Site Manager and CAD/CADD tools; apply scheduling, estimation, procurement, and building-design knowledge; monitor expenses and implement cost-saving measures while maintaining quality; provide technical guidance to ensure project aligns with plans and budget. Must have a valid driver’s license and 4+ years of relevant experience; degree not required; role may include supervisory responsibilities.
Required Qualifications
- Must possess a valid driver’s license
- Broad knowledge of construction management methods, materials, safety, scheduling, specifications, contract documents, estimating, and cost analysis
- Ability to manage projects, with emphasis on cost control, project delivery, and scheduling
- Managerial and communication skills
- Knowledge of construction regulations and best practices
- Knowledge of scheduling, computer-aided design and drafting (CADD), field layout, submittal review, project quantities, material procurement, equipment tracking, and building design and planning
- Ability to use and navigate construction management computer applications (i.e. Site Manager)
- Understanding of the impact of construction on projects and environments
- A degree is not required. However, at least 4+ years of experience applying the outlined knowledge, skills, and abilities in a similar role may be considered
