Construction Project Manager - Western United States

Job Summary

Coordinate communication between key stakeholders and project teams while monitoring resources, daily operations, and costs to ensure profitability and expected financial performance. Perform accurate project revenue and cost financial forecasting, run projects at margins that meet or exceed expectations, and develop comprehensive start-up plans for successful kickoffs. Establish relationships with owners, vendors, partners, and subcontractors; verify contract compliance, maintain document controls, and schedule suppliers, equipment, and materials for mobilization and demobilization. Build and lead diverse project teams, ensuring personnel work effectively and safely while complying with corporate safety initiatives and federal work standards.

Required Qualifications

  • 7+ years of progressive experience in a construction management environment
  • Required experience on federal or public works projects-particularly FAA, USACE, NAVFAC, USAF, or U.S. Army Corps of Engineers
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Business Administration, or related field
  • Specific work experience may be substituted for a degree
  • Travel of 25%+
  • Preference given to candidates residing in a HUBZone-designated area
  • Successful candidates must be able to obtain clearance to Federal project sites
  • This includes, but is not limited to: Department of Defense (Air Force, Navy, Army), Department of Transportation, Federal Aviation Administration, Department of Veteran Affairs, United States Army Corp. of Engineers, Mission & Installation Contracting Command, Federal Bureau of Prisons
  • These clearances include entry level background checks can also include, fingerprinting, proof of citizenship, declaration for federal employment, tuberculosis testing, and credit checks
  • It is the responsibility of the employee to maintain the ability to obtain installation access, it is a condition of the position

Desired Qualifications

  • Proven ability to coordinate project teams, schedules, budgets and resources to ensure projects are completed safety, on time, and within budget
  • Strong command of contract administration, field coordination, subcontractor management, and compliance requirements specific to federal work (including safety, reporting, and documentation standards)
  • Experience with structural steel buildings, asphalt paving, sitework, utilities, and MEP's preferred
  • Knowledge of construction, tenant improvements, repairs/alterations, civil work, and utilities
  • Ability to work in a high-production environment
  • Demonstrated decision-making skills
  • Excellent leadership, supervisory, communication, and organizational skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
  • Familiarity with BuilderTrend or other construction software preferred
  • Experience & proficiency with CPM project scheduling such as Primavera P6
