Job Summary
Manage multiple retail construction projects simultaneously across assigned regions, developing schedules, budgets, and milestone tracking from lease execution through store opening. Coordinate activities with architects, engineers, consultants, and general contractors to ensure design compliance, resolve MEPF conflicts, and lead contractor bidding and negotiation. Monitor construction progress, quality, safety, and budget performance while conducting site visits, reviewing RFIs, and managing change orders. Ensure timely project closeout, punch list completion, and store turnover with local management. Review architectural drawings and specifications for constructability and operational requirements, including HVAC, electrical, and fire protection systems. Work a flexible schedule including evenings and weekends with up to 50% US travel.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in construction management, Engineering, Architecture, Building Construction, or a related field
- 5+ years of construction project management experience in retail, commercial, hospitality, or mixed-use developments
- Experience managing tenant improvement (TI) projects and fast-track construction schedules
- Ability to work a flexible schedule that meets the business needs, including evenings and weekends
- US Travel may be required: 25% - 50%
- Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and building systems
- Working knowledge of HVAC, electrical distribution, lighting systems, plumbing infrastructure, and fire protection systems
- Familiarity with IBC, NFPA, ADA, and local building codes
- Ability to interpret construction drawings, specifications, and engineering documents
