Job Summary
Oversee every phase of construction projects from initial planning and design through final completion for field operations teams on the base in Norfolk, Virginia and nearby areas. Manage commercial construction projects for government and private-sector clients, with a strong emphasis on Department of Defense work. Coordinate travel or relocation as needed for project needs. Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related discipline required, along with at least six years of experience as a Project Engineer or Assistant Project Manager. CPR, First Aid, and OSHA 30 certifications are required. Founded in 1996, RQ Construction provides comprehensive design-build and construction management services nationwide.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline
- Minimum of 2 years of commercial construction project management experience
- At least 6 years of progressing experience serving as a Project Engineer, Assistant Project Manager, or in a comparable construction management role
- Computer proficiency Microsoft Office applications and internet-based systems
- CPR certification
- First Aid certification
- OSHA 30 certification
- U.S. work authorization
- Must successfully pass a drug screening
- Must successfully pass a commercial criminal background check
- Must successfully pass a Department of Defense background check
Desired Qualifications
- Prior experience within the design-build construction industry
- STS certification
- LEED Green Associate (GA) or Accredited Professional (AP/AP+) credentials
