Job Summary
Construction Project Manager to organize and complete corporate and franchise restaurant construction projects (new builds, remodels, and reimages) by partnering with internal departments, external professionals and contractors. Responsibilities include guiding franchisees on budget development, real estate negotiations, site/space design, and contractor qualification; mentoring franchisees to achieve sound site layout, budget control, and project scheduling; overseeing cross-functional teams and external consultants to ensure timely completion; facilitating permitting, variances, and approvals; maintaining project documentation in the online system; and coordinating with real estate, legal, accounting, and project support. Requires BS degree (or equivalent) preferred in Building Construction/Construction Management, 5+ years in retail construction management (3+ years owner-representative), strong communication and negotiation skills, knowledge of building codes and real estate transactions, and willingness to travel 30-50%; position is office-based with travel. Required Qualifications
- BS degree in Building Construction, Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related program (preferred)
- Minimum of 5+ years of retail construction management experience
- At least 3+ years of owner-representative/corporate construction management experience
- Experience in development of fast casual, QSR or related restaurant concepts (national brands preferred)
- Strong English communication, project management, negotiation, leadership and organizational skills
- Thorough knowledge of building codes and construction methods; understanding of design and function
- Knowledge of commercial real estate transactions
- Proficiency with common PC software; experience with construction/real estate software is preferred
- Ability to travel approximately 30-50% of time
- Travel readiness to restaurant sites and other locations
