Job Summary
Direct, plan, and manage construction activities for highway and bridge projects to ensure completion within schedule, budget, and safety compliance. Monitor personnel, review key performance indicators, and oversee procurement processes while maintaining strict adherence to DOT standards and company policies. Lead Foremen and crews to foster a respectful work environment, manage equipment resources, and build relationships with clients and site representatives. Track contract performance against milestones and support business development and estimating efforts as needed.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management, related field
- Minimum 5 years' experience in the heavy construction industry
- Knowledge of construction techniques
- Knowledge of construction management
- Bridge experience
- Roadwork experience
- DOT experience
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite; including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Ability to read, analyze and interpret blueprints
- Ability to read, analyze and interpret professional journals
- Ability to read, analyze and interpret technical procedures
- Ability to read, analyze and interpret contracts
- Ability to read, analyze and interpret governmental regulations
- Ability to write reports
- Ability to write business correspondence
- Ability to document project activities
- Ability to effectively present information
- Ability to respond to questions from project managers
- Ability to respond to questions from superintendents
- Ability to respond to questions from clients
- Ability to respond to questions from customers
- Ability to respond to questions from the general public
- Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts
