Construction Project Manager

Job Summary
Collaborate with engineers and architects to define project specifications, negotiate contracts with external vendors, and communicate daily with clients. Determine required resources including manpower, equipment, and materials while maintaining budgetary limits. Plan construction operations and intermediate phases to meet deadlines, acquire necessary equipment, and monitor inventory. Hire subcontractors and staff, allocate responsibilities, and supervise laborers, foremen, and superintendents. Evaluate progress, prepare detailed reports, and ensure adherence to health and safety standards by reporting issues. Manage federal construction projects from start to finish, coordinating diverse professional teams to deliver results on time and within budget.
Required Qualifications
- Proven experience as construction project manager
- In-depth understanding of construction procedures and material and project management principles
- Familiarity with quality and health and safety standards
- Good knowledge of MS Office
- Outstanding communication and negotiation skills
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills
- A team player with leadership abilities
- BSc/BA in engineering, building science, construction management or relevant field
- Project management: 5 years
- Construction Project Managers: 5 years
- Federal Government Construction Project Management: 3 years
Desired Qualifications
- preferably on federal government projects
- Familiarity with construction/ project management software (CMIC a plus)
- Familiarity with scheduling software (P6 a plus)
- PMP or equivalent certification
- Project management: 5 years (Preferred)
- Construction Project Managers: 5 years (Preferred)
- Federal Government Construction Project Management: 3 years (Preferred)
