Construction Project Manager (Capital Projects)

Job Summary

Manage assigned project phases and work streams under the direction of the Senior Project Manager, supporting delivery through planning, design, Design-Build procurement, construction, commissioning, and closeout. Coordinate architectural, engineering, and contractor activities while monitoring performance against scope, schedule, budget, and quality standards. Track design submissions, RFIs, and deliverables; maintain schedules, cost data, risk registers, and change documentation. Conduct site visits to observe progress and resolve deficiencies, then prepare status reports, meeting minutes, and presentations. Support procurement activities including RFQs, RFPs, and proposal evaluations, and assist with consultant and contractor selection. Ensure compliance with public-sector requirements, building codes, and contractual obligations. Provide regular status updates to the Senior Project Manager and escalate significant issues as appropriate.

Required Qualifications

  • BA/BS degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, or a related field
  • 6 years of relevant construction project management experience
  • demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience supporting or managing capital construction projects on behalf of an owner, public agency, program management consultant, or construction management organization
  • Demonstrated experience supporting Progressive Design-Build and Design-Build project delivery
  • Public-sector capital project experience
  • Experience with courthouse, judicial, civic, institutional, government, or other complex public facilities
  • Experience coordinating architects, engineers, consultants, contractors, and specialty vendors on multidisciplinary projects
  • Knowledge of construction project controls, including scheduling, cost tracking, change management, risk management, document control, and progress reporting
  • Experience conducting construction site observations and tracking field issues through resolution
  • Experience supporting project commissioning, turnover, occupancy, and closeout
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple project activities, deadlines, and stakeholders simultaneously
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and experience preparing project reports, meeting documentation, and presentations
  • Project Management Professional (PMP), Certified Construction Manager (CCM), Design-Build Institute of America (DBIA), Engineer-in-Training (EIT), Professional Engineer (PE), or related professional certification
