Job Summary
Assist in all aspects of project implementation by creating scopes of work, obtaining multiple bids from competing contractors, and performing job walk-downs with vendors, engineers, supervisors, and managers. Review plans and technical documents, answer questions regarding scope or timing, and monitor costs and project progress while maintaining control of all documentation. Create, manage, and track RFIs from the field to the architect/engineer of record. Collaborate with the purchasing department to ensure vendors are approved, vetted, and insured. Report to the Construction Project Manager to enable production teams to operate equipment required for the design and build of human-rated space stations. This full-time, exempt role in Long Beach requires a Bachelor's degree and the ability to work effectively in a high-stress environment balancing multiple projects.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree
- Ability to read and comprehend plans and specifications
- Willingness to work overtime, or weekends to support critical mission milestones
- Ability to lift up to 25lbs unassisted
- Must be a U.S. person as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.62 or otherwise eligible for deemed export licensing
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor's of Science Degree in any engineering discipline
- Experience with facilities within an aerospace industry
- Familiar with space planning procedures and operations
- Knowledge of computer applications and the ability to easily navigate through different computer software programs
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Ability to make independent judgments with limited information
- Communication skills for relaying data (verbally and in-writing) between other employees, vendors, and customers
- Logical and strategic approach to solving problems
- Comfortable working in a high-stress environment balancing several projects at any given time, and the flexibility to adjust for abrupt changes in strategic direction
