Construction Project Engineer (Northeast Ohio)

Job Summary
Inspect construction work on transportation and utility infrastructure projects to document conformity to standards and specifications. Assist in coordinating contractors, designers, utilities, and local residents while completing field observations, daily reports, and material sampling tests. Prepare pay estimates, change orders, and RFI responses; review construction documents for constructability issues; and serve as a firm representative at meetings to lead client coordination. Requires a PE license, 15+ years of experience, and extensive knowledge of ODOT standards. Located in Northeast Ohio with a Bachelor's degree in Civil or Construction Engineering required.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Engineering Technology (ABET), Construction Engineering, Construction Management (ACCE), or similar degree
- Current Professional Engineer (PE) license
- 15 or more years of transportation and/or utility infrastructure construction inspection experience
- Extensive knowledge of ODOT standards and specifications
- Ability to read and interpret construction plans, specifications, and standards
- Willingness to work in varying temperatures as most work assignments are outdoors
- Ability to perform physical activities such as lifting, dragging, stooping, standing and walking for extended periods of time
