Construction Project Engineer

Project engineer for construction projects focused on high-end residential work, supporting the entire lifecycle from pre- to post-construction. Responsibilities include collaborating with the project manager and superintendent to build according to plan, assisting with estimating (take-offs, sub bids, materials pricing), managing plans, contracts, purchase orders, shop drawings, submittals, and RFIs; issuing RFPs and subcontractor agreements; conducting site walkthroughs for pricing; reviewing subcontractor proposals and negotiating; maintaining punch lists with the architect and build team; processing applications for payment; ensuring owner payments flow to subs; maintaining owner's manual and close-out requirements; partnering with the PM to ensure timely payments; upholding site safety and quality control; and leveraging software tools (Outlook, Project, Excel, Word, BlueBeam, Slack, Asana, SmartSheet, Airtable) to coordinate documentation and communications. The role emphasizes site-based execution, collaboration with designers, vendors, and field teams, and a focus on quality and craftsmanship in dynamic project environments.
