Job Summary
Coordinate day-to-day project management activities for Sonic's Plant Construction projects, including managing permit applications for aerial and underground utilities, tracking purchase orders, and preparing SOW documents. Interface with municipal departments to secure approvals, monitor permit expiration dates, and manage the closeout process by filing NOCs and as-built drawings. Review as-built drawings for billing quantities, schedule traffic control signs, and maintain project progress meeting minutes. Push JIRA workflows, upload files to SharePoint, and coordinate contractor ID issuance with IT and Logistics. Drive a Sonic company vehicle to site conditions while ensuring continuity between aerial and underground construction methods.
Required Qualifications
- Proficient skills in Word / Excel / Adobe PDF / Outlook
- General understanding of the fundamentals of a construction project lifecycle as it pertains to utilities (pre-engineering, engineering, construction, and post-construction activities)
- General understanding of the fundamentals of aerial and underground construction, and process of transitioning between the two methods, importance of continuity in network construction
- Experience / knowledge of State, Highway Department, Railway & Municipal requirements for construction permitting processes as requested
- Knowledge/Experience – AT&T, PG&E, or Aerial Utility construction
- Ability to learn and implement AT&T and PG&E paperwork processes and procedures
- Ability to interface with numerous municipal building and roadway departments to complete permit application requests, coordinate work inspections and secure project completion approvals as requested
- Ability to drive a Sonic company vehicle
- Must be able to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
