Job Summary
Inspect aerial and underground construction sites to audit contractor work against NESC and Ziply standards, acting as first-level field approval for necessary changes. Dispatch work to contract inspectors via email or database applications, resolve complex NESC or FPT issues, and train personnel on accepted inspection methods. Partner with vendors and municipalities to address bore-throughs, tree trimming complaints, and permitting concerns while processing vendor invoices within project workflow databases. Drive up to 15% of the time within a specific region to safely perform all functions of operating a motor vehicle.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Minimum five (5) years' experience in outside plant (OSP) construction and/or OSP engineering
- Familiarity with Microsoft Word, and PowerPoint; and proficient/comfortable with Microsoft Excel to include the development of forms, the use of internal and external hyperlinks, as well as simple functions and their structure (i.e. COUNT, COUNTIF, SUBTOTAL, SUM, etc.)
- Must possess and maintain a valid State Driver's License and satisfactory driving record
- Must complete a pre-employment drug screening
- Knowledge of the NESC, OSP construction techniques, telecom industry OSP best practices, and overall maintenance of a safe job site
- Ability to determine cost effective solutions to bring into compliance complex aerial cable problems
- Ability to learn the current Ziply construction unit coding
- Intermediate understanding of the as-built process for closing out OSP construction projects
- Basic understanding of the NJUNS database and familiarity of joint use processes
- Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the US for any employer

- Ability to safely perform all functions of operating a motor vehicle
