Job Summary
Senior Project Accountant to lead cost control, project financial reporting, compliance monitoring, and process improvement for complex construction and service-based projects. Partner with project managers, superintendents, and field teams to ensure accuracy, transparency, and fiscal discipline. Responsibilities include monthly reconciliations, cost coding aligned with budgets/WBS, monitoring variances, preparing audit-ready draw packages, strengthening internal controls, creating templates for cost tracking and payment schedules, guiding accounting software enhancements, and maintaining audit trails across contract types (cost-plus, lump-sum, hybrid). Ideal candidate thrives in collaborative, design-aware environments and demonstrates calm, solutions-focused financial guidance.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 5+ years of construction accounting experience
- Strong expertise in job costing, budget oversight, financial reporting, and ledger management
- Advanced Excel skills and experience with construction-oriented accounting platforms
- Highly organized, detail-driven, proactive, autonomous
- Strong interpersonal skills with ability to support multiple project teams
