Job Summary
Construction Permit Coordinator / HSE Support Specialist to support health, safety, and environmental initiatives on construction projects in Indianapolis. Prepare and issue work permits (Hot Work, Confined Space Entry, Trenching, Safe Work permits), monitor permits, conduct safety observations, facilitate corrective actions, participate in meetings, ensure compliance with safety standards, promote HSE programs, verify regulatory compliance, and collaborate with contractors and internal teams to uphold a strong safety culture.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in construction, general industry, environmental, or safety permitting background
- OSHA 30 – Construction Certification required within 30 days of hire date
- Degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Construction Management, or a related field (preferred)
- In-depth understanding of Confined Space, Hot Work, and general permitting requirements and procedures
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work some weekends or flexible hours as required by project demands
