Job Summary
This hands-on field role for Construction Materials Testing (CMT) Technicians focuses on performing field testing of soil, concrete, asphalt, and related construction materials to ensure compliance with project specifications and quality standards. Responsibilities include setting up, operating, and maintaining testing equipment at job sites; recording detailed field data and submitting daily reports; communicating results and any concerns to project managers and engineers; transporting materials and assisting with field and lab coordination; and adhering to Atlas safety standards and site requirements. The role requires a high school diploma or GED with 2+ years of construction/field testing experience, ACI Level I certification (or ability to obtain quickly), experience documenting test results, strong attention to detail, effective communication, outdoors work adaptability, and willingness to travel to job sites and work variable hours.
Required Qualifications
- A high school diploma or GED, with 2+ years of experience in construction, field testing, or a related environment
- ACI Level I certification (or the ability to obtain it quickly)
- Experience performing or assisting with material testing (soil, concrete, asphalt) and accurately documenting results
- The ability to follow established testing procedures and standards with attention to detail and consistency
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to clearly document findings and share information with engineers and project teams
- A reliable, accountable work style—you show up prepared, take ownership of your work, and follow through
- Comfort working outdoors in varying weather conditions, standing for extended periods, and lifting/handling equipment
- Flexibility to travel to job sites and work early mornings, evenings, or weekends as project schedules require
