Construction Materials Testing Technician/NDE Assistant role combining field and laboratory testing of concrete, soil, asphalt, and aggregate per project specifications; operate and maintain materials testing equipment; review test samples against blueprints and project specs; document field activities and test results using tablets/computers; maintain records of procedures, results, equipment maintenance, and calibration; support Senior NDE Inspectors with nondestructive examination services including exposure to X-ray testing; perfect for recent grads with hands-on construction/manufacturing experience seeking long-term technical growth in Rochester; paid training and opportunities for industry certifications provided; travel to client sites locally required; safety and quality emphasized.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Ability to obtain certifications from ACI, NICET, ICC, and AWS, and maintain them as directed by the company
- Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently in field environments and active construction sites
- Valid driver’s license with the ability to operate a motor vehicle for field testing and inspections
- Willingness and ability to travel to client project sites locally on a regular basis
- Ability to pass a drug screening and background check
- Physically capable of lifting up to 50 lbs and wearing PPE
