Construction Materials Testing Technician 2

Job Summary
Field and laboratory testing of construction materials (concrete, soils, aggregates, asphalt, masonry, grout) in accordance with ASTM/AASHTO and federal standards; document and communicate results; verify compliance with plans, specifications, QA/QC, and safety requirements; maintain equipment and records; coordinate schedules; mentor junior technicians; produce accurate field reports, test data, daily logs, time sheets, and expense reports; communicate test results and observations professionally to project teams, contractors, and authorities; maintain testing equipment/calibration status and adhere to OSHA/site safety requirements; readiness to pursue relevant certifications and lifelong learning.
Required Qualifications
- US Citizen as required by client contract
- A high school diploma or GED, with technical or vocational coursework in construction, materials testing, or a related field preferred
- read and follow procedures, communicate clearly in writing and verbally, and maintain strong attention to detail
- strong work ethic, willingness to earn OSHA 10 and industry certifications (ACI, WAQTC, ICC)
- valid driver’s license with a clean driving record, proof of insurance, ability to pass pre-employment and random drug tests
- cooperative, professional approach to working with the public, contractors, and team members, plus flexibility to travel and work varied schedules
- pursue relevant certifications (ACI, ICC, WAQTC)
