Job Summary

Construction Materials Testing Project Manager in Frederick, MD leads and coordinates material-testing services for commercial and residential land development, supervising technician staff across earthwork, concrete, foundation, masonry, steel, EIFS, and pavement testing; performs on-site inspections (soil bearing, compaction, concrete, steel), prepares bids and proposals, attends pre-bid meetings, and meets with clients. Requires a Bachelor's degree in construction management, civil engineering, or geology (preferred) with 3-5 years in geotechnical/construction materials testing or project management; EPC/PE preferred but not required. Certifications (ACI, NECEPT, ICC) and business development experience are a plus; role involves client interaction and potential backlog management of $1-3 million; ESOP employer offering comprehensive benefits.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in construction management, Civil Engineering, or Geology is preferred.
  • 3-5 years of field or project management experience in Geotechnical Engineering, Construction Materials Testing, or Construction Project Management
  • Engineer in Training or Registered Professional Engineer preferred but not required.
  • Experience managing a construction project backlog between $1-3 million.
  • Experience estimating labor requirements for various types of construction projects.
  • Some business development experience is a plus and must be able to interact/communicate with clients.
  • Experience managing construction/field staff a plus.
  • Specialty construction testing certifications a plus (ACI, NECEPT, ICC)
