Job Summary
As a Construction Materials Testing Technician, you will conduct field inspections and perform basic soil and concrete tests to ensure compliance with project specifications. Responsibilities include preparing detailed field reports, evaluating site conditions, and communicating effectively with clients and contractors. Candidates should possess a High School Diploma and ideally have prior construction or field testing experience. Certifications in concrete and soils are a plus, along with strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively. Physical requirements include continuous standing and the ability to lift and carry heavy materials.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Prior construction or field testing experience preferred
- Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines
- Ability to work independently and within teams
- Detail oriented
- Ability to read and interpret plans and specifications
- Ability to write routine reports
- Problem-solving skills
- Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 70 pounds
- Valid, clean driver’s license
Desired Qualifications
- ACI Level I Concrete certification
- State DOT certification
- WACEL certification
- ICC certification in soils
- ICC certification in reinforced concrete
- ICC certification in masonry
