Job Summary
The Construction Materials Testing Field Technician at Froehling & Robertson, Inc. will travel to construction sites to inspect contractor work and perform field tests on soil, asphalt, masonry, and concrete. Responsibilities include preparing detailed field reports, evaluating site conditions, and communicating construction issues with clients and team members. Candidates should have a high school diploma, be detail-oriented, and able to meet deadlines. Preferred qualifications include prior construction experience and relevant certifications. Physical demands include lifting and continuous standing.
Required Qualifications
- A High School Diploma (or equivalent)
- Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines
- Must be able to work independently and within teams
- Detail oriented
- Ability to read and interpret plans and specifications
- Problem solver capable of managing variable situations
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
- Ability to apply basic mathematical formulas
- Must be able to walk and stand continuously
- Must be able to lift, carry, push and pull up to 70 pounds
- Valid, clean driver’s license
Desired Qualifications
- Prior construction or field testing experience
- ACI Level I Concrete certification
- State DOT certification
- WACEL certification
- ICC certifications in soils, reinforced concrete, and masonry
Additional Requirements
- Must pass pre-employment screening including background investigation, drug screening, and driving record
- Requires maintaining a clean driving record
