Job Summary
Construction Materials Tester - CMT Field Technician 1 performing on-site testing of cement, concrete, and surfacing materials, recording test data, writing and submitting daily test reports, and assisting with inspection of heavy civil construction. Requires travel across Western Washington, ability to obtain WAQTC and ACI certifications within 3 months, valid driver’s license, proficiency with Microsoft Office, and capacity to lift up to 50 pounds. Responsibilities include sampling, sieve analysis, sand equivalent, moisture content, using a nuclear gauge to test densities, documenting measurements (tickets), and adapting to contractor schedules including nights, weekends, holidays, and emergency standbys.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Driver's License and acceptable driving record
- Ability to obtain WAQTC and ACI Certification for in-place density and concrete field testing within 3 months of hire
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Ability to travel for Western Washington per diem projects
- Knowledge of materials testing and construction practices
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds on occasion and navigate uneven construction sites
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
