Job Summary

Conduct standardized laboratory tests on aggregates, cement, concrete, and related materials while assisting with the development and execution of testing procedures for 3D printed cement-based materials. Fabricate and transport test samples, record data, and maintain documentation to support internal quality control activities. Prepare materials and equipment for experiments, perform physical tasks including lifting up to 50 lbs, and troubleshoot laboratory tools. Monitor inventory and participate in safety protocols for both lab and field environments, transitioning between locations as needed. Work outdoors in varying conditions, including extreme temperatures, and maintain equipment calibrations.

Required Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience in concrete, cement, or construction materials testing
  • Basic understanding of lab procedures and materials handling
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Willingness to work collaboratively on a team and take initiative in a dynamic environment
  • Comfortable lifting up to 50 pounds and working in outdoor or construction settings
  • Proficient or fluent in English
  • Ability to obtain ACI Concrete Field Testing Technician Grade I certification within 3 months of hire
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds safely and regularly
  • Comfortable working in various outdoor environments, including extreme temperatures (above 100°F or below freezing), sun, rain, mud, and areas with limited infrastructure (e.g., lack of electricity)
  • Comfortable standing and moving on your feet for the majority of the workday
  • Flexible availability to work nights and weekends as needed

Desired Qualifications

  • ACI Concrete Laboratory Testing Technician certification
  • Familiarity with ASTM test methods for concrete and mortar
  • Experience working in a laboratory or on active construction sites
  • Basic computer skills (Google Workspace or MS Office)
  • Strong attention to detail and curiosity to learn new processes
  • Experience or interest in working at a startup or with emerging construction technologies
  • Flexibility to work occasional extended hours or weekends as needed
