Construction Materials Laboratory Technician

Job Summary
Perform laboratory work in accordance with ASTM and AASHTO standard procedures, including tests for density, moisture content, permeability, gradation, consolidation, and strength for soils, aggregates, flyash, rock cores, concrete, and masonry. Compile accurate data, reports, and analyses; perform calculations with basic math; maintain calibration and records for testing equipment per ASTM/AASHTO; respond to proficiency testing non-conformities; participate in on-site assessments by AMRL and CCRL; adhere to safety protocols and participate in weekly safety topics. Requires high school diploma (college coursework or degree preferred), strong data-keeping, and ability to lift up to 50 pounds; full-time position based in Nashville, TN.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of a High School Diploma or equivalent
- Proficient in Microsoft Office software, particularly Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Experience in Bentley gINT and AutoCAD preferred
- Clear oral and written communication
- Maintain accurate records and detailed laboratory analyses, reports, and field notes
- Ability to lift and/or move at least 50 pounds
- Willingness to work additional hours and weekends to complete tasks
