Job Summary
Construction Manager (Owner’s Representative) for VA healthcare projects, onsite at multiple U.S. locations. Role focuses on oversight, coordination, analysis, and client representation from design through construction and closeout; does not perform trade/self-perform work. Responsibilities include monitoring budgets and expenditures, reviewing schedules and contractor performance, coordinating meetings and payments, maintaining documentation for issue identification and risk mitigation, monitoring testing/quality assurance, supporting commissioning, reviewing submittals for conformance, and preparing analytical reports for leadership. Ideal candidates have healthcare/federal/institutional construction experience, ability to analyze budget/schedule/quality/compliance data, and capability to work independently while collaborating with clients and project teams. Requires a Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, architecture, or related field and a minimum of 6 years of experience; preferred qualifications include VA/DOD/federal healthcare construction experience and professional certifications (PE, EIT, CCM, PMP, RCDD). Full-time onsite work at active construction sites and offices; background checks and VA suitability may apply.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, architecture, or a related field or equivalent experience
- Minimum of 6 years of progressively responsible experience in construction administration, construction management, or a related field
- Experience supporting healthcare, federal, or institutional environments (preferred)
- Strong written, verbal, and organizational communication skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Acrobat
